Chalk Up, referred to as we, our, or us, values your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal information when you use the Chalk Up app on iOS.
By using Chalk Up you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
We collect information you provide when registering for an account. This includes your name, email address, password which is securely hashed, date of birth, user role such as Athlete, Coach, Club Owner, Welfare Officer, or Parent, and club information where applicable.
We collect your profile picture or avatar if you choose to upload one. We collect training session logs including type, date, duration, exercises, and mood. Mental health check-ins, mood tracking, and journal entries are collected but remain private to the user. We also collect attendance records, coach-assigned workouts, and session notes.
We collect device information and identifiers. Crash reports and app usage data are collected to improve app performance. Firebase Cloud Messaging tokens are collected for notifications.
Payment information is processed via Stripe. We collect Stripe customer ID, subscription information, payment methods, and billing usage data related to metered subscriptions.
We collect anonymous analytics data used solely to improve the app.
We use the information we collect to provide and maintain Chalk Up features, track and analyse training and wellbeing progress, allow club management and parent-athlete linking, process payments and manage subscriptions, improve the app through anonymised analytics, and send notifications when enabled.
Mental health journal entries are private and not visible to coaches or other users.
We do not sell or share personal information with third parties. Data is shared only with authorised users within the app such as coaches, club owners, and parents based on role and permissions.
We use Firebase by Google and Stripe for hosting, authentication, storage, and payment processing. These providers may process data internationally under standard contractual clauses.
Consent is used for optional data such as mood tracking and journaling. Contractual necessity applies to the provision of subscription-based app features. Legitimate interest is applied to improve app functionality. Legal obligation is applied for payment and billing records.
Chalk Up is intended for users aged thirteen and above. Users under thirteen are not permitted. Parental accounts are provided for users aged thirteen and above to monitor child activity.
Your data is retained until you delete your account. When an account is deleted, account information, training logs, journal entries, notifications, and preferences are permanently deleted. Firebase backups may retain data temporarily according to Google's standard retention. No fixed retention period is set for inactive accounts and data may remain until deletion.
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights. You may access and review your personal data, correct inaccuracies in your data, delete your account and personal data, withdraw consent for optional features, request data portability to view or export your data, and opt out of communications and push notifications.
For UK and EU users, these rights are provided under the General Data Protection Regulation. For California users, rights are provided under the California Consumer Privacy Act.

We implement reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data. Passwords are securely hashed. Role-based access control is applied in Firebase. Data is stored securely in Google Cloud and Stripe. Crash reports and analytics data are anonymised.
Your data may be stored or processed outside your country including the European Union and the United States by Firebase, Google, and Stripe. Transfers are conducted under standard contractual clauses or equivalent safeguards.
Push notifications are sent using Firebase Cloud Messaging when enabled. Analytics data is anonymised and used solely to improve Chalk Up features. No tracking or cookies are used for marketing purposes.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The effective date at the top indicates the latest version. Continued use of Chalk Up constitutes acceptance of any changes.
